6 Moses Yahweh’s servant and the Israelites[a] defeated them; and Moses Yahweh’s servant gave it as a possession to the Reubenites,[b] the Gadites,[c] and the half-tribe of Manasseh.

7 These are the kings of the land whom Joshua and the Israelites[d] defeated beyond to the Jordan to the west, from Baal Gad in the valley of Lebanon,[e] and up to Mount Halak, which rises to Seir. And Joshua gave it as a possession to the tribes of Israel according to their allotments, 8 in the hill country, the Shephelah,[f] the Arabah,[g] on the slopes, in the wilderness, and in the Negev;[h] the Hittites,[i] the Amorites,[j] the Canaanites,[k] the Perizzites,[l] the Hivites,[m] and the Jebusites:[n]
